Welcome to
Naked Sunday: a virtual church community
"So, this is a church?"
Well, yes and no.
There are many elements
that make up the Church, but in it's essence, the Church is manifest in both "visible"
and "invisible" forms. The visible Church is the most common
terminology and is comprised of those who claim to be "Christians"
and who join together in a common place for worship, prayer, fellowship,
community and the study of the Bible.
The invisible Church is something bigger and more spiritual in nature, and represents people all over the world that believe in Jesus Christ and choose to follow Him by their words, actions and lifestyle. Sometimes called the Body of Christ, the invisible Church is a living breathing organic union of people joined together by God's Spirit. The invisible Church exists anywhere and anytime.
Jesus once said, "When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.” (Matthew 18:20 - The Message) Within a culture of social media, many of us meet through and utilize the different avenues of technology.
If you're here, you're probably familiar with the "Naked Theology" concept. Naked Sunday is a new project birthed from the blog and ministry. It's a virtual church community that gives you a helpful format option to enjoy worship on your own or in your own spiritual and faith community. Naked Sunday is not intended to replace conventional church gatherings, but simply one more devotional outlet for us to connect together spiritually and grow deeper in our relationship with a living God where ever we decide to gather.
To get started, just click on the "Begin" tab and you'll be guided through the worship experience. The main message or story will take about 5-10 minutes, much shorter than a typical church message. You'll have the option of adding worship music to your experience and reading selected verses from the Bible. Just follow the links, relax and enjoy the experience. You may even decide to add your own personal music selections and readings, sing songs together and light candles to create a more intimate time of worship.
Whatever you decide to do, know that God is present, and as we join together, His Spirit unites us as we worship!
